Connecting to ChoiceCraft when Minecraft says no

Connecting to ChoiceCraft when Minecraft says no

ChoiceCraft's Java Edition address is play.choicecraft.xyz. Add it in Minecraft under Multiplayer as the Server Address and leave the port blank. The network does not support Bedrock, console, or mobile clients.

Run /status in Discord before diagnosing the apocalypse. If ChoiceCraft answers there, copy the exact connection error and work through the matching section below. "It hates me" is a respectable feeling but not a network packet.

What is the ChoiceCraft server IP or address?

Use play.choicecraft.xyz as the Minecraft server address. The words server IP, address, hostname, and connect address all refer to that value here. Do not add https://, a live-map path, or a Discord invite. Leave the port blank.

ChoiceCraft currently supports Java Edition. Bedrock Edition, consoles, phones, and tablets cannot connect just because the address was typed with exceptional confidence.

Connecting puts you in the Hub first. From there use /server survival or /server skyblock, or use the Hub portal.

Is ChoiceCraft down, offline, restarting, or under maintenance?

Run /status in Discord. PigBot checks each configured Minecraft server directly and shows whether it answered. If everything is offline, staff have almost certainly already been paged; another identical outage ticket is usually optional.

An offline result does not prove a world reset, rollback, or lost inventory. Wait for the server to return and check your progress before reporting a separate data problem. The status light knows whether a server answered, not what philosophical journey it experienced while away.

Why can I join the Hub but not Survival or SkyBlock?

The Hub is open, while Survival and SkyBlock are whitelisted. If you reach the Hub but a backend refuses you, ask staff to add you to the whitelist. Use /ticket open in Discord with Question or the closest category and include your exact Minecraft name.

Minecraft account linking and whitelisting are documented as separate things. Running /link does not itself guarantee that a staff-managed whitelist entry has been added. A link proves identity; it does not sneak past a locked guest list in a fake moustache.

What should I do with an unknown host or address error?

Check that the address is exactly play.choicecraft.xyz, with no spaces, web prefix, map path, or copied punctuation. An unknown host, cannot resolve, or similar address error usually means the name was typed incorrectly or your device's network could not resolve it.

Confirm other websites and Minecraft servers work, then restart Minecraft and try again. If the exact address still fails while /status shows ChoiceCraft online, open /ticket open under Bug report or Something else and paste the exact error text. Please do not send staff a hand-painted interpretation of the dialog.

What should I do with a timeout, refused connection, or disconnect?

Run /status first. A timed out, connection refused, disconnected, or similar message can have several causes, and PigBot should not diagnose one from a single phrase. Note whether every ChoiceCraft server is offline or only your connection fails.

Retry once after a short wait, check your own internet connection, and copy the complete error. If /status is green but the failure continues, use /ticket open and include your Minecraft name, time, server, edition, whether you ever reached the Hub, and the exact message. "Same" is not an error code, however popular it becomes in chat.

Which Minecraft version or client should I use?

The player wiki deliberately does not publish a Minecraft version because server versions change and an old number becomes a support-ticket generator. Check the official ChoiceCraft Discord information or announcements for the currently supported client.

ChoiceCraft supports Java Edition, not Bedrock, console, or mobile. The wiki does not publish a complete allowed-mods or client policy. If a modified client fails, try an ordinary Java client before reporting the issue, then include the client and mods in /ticket open if the problem remains. Mods are excellent at making the word "vanilla" diagnostically important.

What information belongs in a connection ticket?

For a can't-connect, whitelist, timeout, authentication, or disconnect ticket, include:

  • your exact Minecraft name;
  • Java Edition and the client version you tried;
  • the address you used;
  • whether you reached the Hub;
  • Survival, SkyBlock, or every server affected;
  • the date and approximate time;
  • the complete error message;
  • what /status showed.

Remove passwords, session tokens, account recovery codes, and private network details. Staff need the error, not the keys to reproduce your entire identity.
